In 2014 Nikol and Vanessa BOTH chose to homeschool their children after running a month long series about the choice to homeschool on Mom Complicated. As with almost every decisions that Nikol and Vanessa make, they chose different teaching styles, methods and programs their first year. The one thing that they had in common was trying to find quality FREE printables to use with their homeschool curriculum of choice. In their need to tell everyone everything about making life less complicated, the site Free Homeschool Printable was created.
Hi! I’m Vanessa, a former English professor and high school teacher turned stay-at-home mom. I have a 7-year old son and 4-year old daughter that are somehow more overwhelming than the 180 teenagers I faced every year teaching! I have just begun homeschooling my children and blogging, and cannot wait to see where God will lead me next.
I’m passionate about:
running & triathlons
clean, organic living
living life NOW
I hold a middle school and high school Teaching Certificate in Florida and a Master’s Degree in English. I always loved teaching and learning, so when I decided to homeschool my children it was not a very large leap for me. The only question I asked myself was, “Why didn’t I choose to do it sooner?”
Hi there, I’m Nikol. I have been a pre-school teacher, a nanny, restaurant manager, wedding planner, a live event media director and recently co-founded NC Blogger Network. I am embarking on my first year as a homeschool Mom and blogger. I’m not sure where this journey will lead me, but I am certainly along for the ride!
organizing the house with what I already have, but have no knack for decorating.
going to yard sales
only being seriously when absolutely necessary
Most of all, just being with my husband and boys.
I love our story and although it has not always been easy, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
